MAJOR GENERAL
GREGORY A. CORLISS, USMC (Ret)
(December 23, 2015)

It is with profound sadness that I must inform you that Old Tiger Greg Corliss, former Executive Officer, then Commanding Officer of HMM-262 has "RTB".

As Executive Officer, Major Corliss took us to Vietnam in December 1965.  LtCol Corliss was promoted to Commanding Officer of HMM-262 in June 1967.

He was a Marine in the true sense of the word.  He could be hard as nails when it was necessary, but was also one of the nicest human beings on the planet.  He led by example, not by just giving orders.  As an exemplary CH-46 Pilot, he led many missions himself and treated everyone with respect and as a Brother Marine.

From Jake:

I have spoken with Greg, Jr. and he has asked that I pass along to all, that the family would really appreciate any and all emails with information, Sea Stories, anecdotes, etc.  about his father.

Also please let them know, at Greg, Jr's. email address corlissfdx@aol.com, if you plan on attending and please copy me as I am trying to keep a list of all Old Tigers who might be able to make it.  For now, I know that Ralph Orey, Jack Hogue, my wife Jenny and I will be there.

If you need hotel reservations, please contact the BAVARIAN INN and mention the Corliss Memorial Service.
